Since 1919 Sawtry WI has been a pivotal part of village life. While we are a progressive group we follow the same principals in which the Women's Institute was established which are to: advance the education of women and girls for the public benefit, promote sustainable development for the public benefit  and advance health and citizenship for the public benefit The WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.

We have 40+ active members, ranging from their 30's to their 90's.

​

We provide a varied programme of monthly meetings, 11 months of the year which can vary from educational to practical.

​

The WI welcome all women from the age of 18 to attend meetings and visitors as welcome to attend 2 meetings before they are invited to become members.

​

Sawtry WI members can regularly be seen involved with community activities from the Carnival to the Christmas tree festival.
